Clean Those Pipes!
Today I am doing my monthly cleanse with my favorite product, Colonblow! (Cue laughter) No, not the cereal advertised on Saturday Night Live by Phil Hartman in the 80’s…this is real.
Since healing myself of lupus several years ago, I believe more than ever in natural remedies along with the power of the mind to keep us in balance.
I like to clean my system on a regular basis – as we all should – because like clogged pipes, stuff that’s stuck will prevent things from flowing smoothly (I’m trying to be as delicate as possible so as not to gross you out, but this is important stuff). This accumulation means your body is hanging on to toxins that are leaking back into your body and could be causing you headaches, feeling bloated and any number of other issues.
Could be that you just need to clean out your pipes.
There is also the route from the other end – colonics – which I have done quite often in the past. But I prefer to do things in the direction nature has intended J
Our best plan of action is to eat plenty of clean food and good fiber. Think about the food you’re eating - the consistency and what it’s made of (do you know what all the ingredients are in your processed food?) and then think about that working its way through your body. I know, I know, we all eat plenty of stuff we shouldn’t. I’m right there with you. (Refer back to the Matterhorn Macaroon…) All the more reason to do a bit of maintenance once in a while.
I have tried many cleanses over the years – some were very involved with a long list of products to use throughout the day, usually taking several days or weeks to complete. Too long! And they were usually very expensive.
Then there is the hardcore Master Cleanse. If you can handle drinking only water with lemon juice, maple syrup and cayenne pepper for a week (or 30 days), then go for it.
And all of them require a huge amount of water to be consumed. Let me just say – not everyone’s body is designed to drink that much water! And I am THRILLED to report there are finally studies coming out stating that there is no real evidence that we need 8-10 glasses of water a day – YAY! I know many of you already do this every day and God bless you – I can’t. I wouldn’t be able to go anywhere or do anything. I’d have to wear Depends. I feel everyone needs to do what works for them. I know how much liquid my body likes and it does not like (or need) to be flooded, thank you very much.
However, I will do the flooding during the Colonblow cleanse, which only lasts 24 hours and is way more effective than any other cleanse I have tried.
So today I am working from home, no outside appointments and no clients (I’d have to excuse myself every 5 minutes from their session) and I will eat again this evening, enjoying feeling lighter and healthier.
If you want a quick, effective, affordable cleanse, check them out – their website is pretty funny – www.colonblow.com. Enjoy!
Wishing you a happy, healthy, clean day!
